These new playground pieces have encouraged children to build coordination, balance, and core strength in fun and engaging ways. The teeter totters help students practice cooperation and turn-taking, since they must work with a partner to make the equipment move. The balance beams and stepping stones give children opportunities to develop gross motor skills, confidence, and risk-taking as they carefully plan their steps and challenge themselves to go a little further each time.\r\nBeyond physical growth, these activities also foster social-emotional development. Students cheer one another on, learn patience as they wait for a turn, and celebrate successes together. \r\nOverall, these additions have created a more inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate play space where our youngest learners can grow physically, socially, and emotionally while having fun.","fullyFundedDate":1755432883030,"projectUrl":"project/prek-play-equals-learning/9500696/","projectTitle":"PreK Play Equals Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Satterfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5206226_orig.jpg?crop=2613,2613,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757092474121","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5206226"},{"teacherId":9111996,"projectId":7629618,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations that allowed us to purchase seat-back storage for our fourth grade classroom. These chair pockets have made a huge difference for our students, who previously had no place to keep their notebooks, folders, or reading materials. Now, each student has a personal space to stay organized and easily access what they need throughout the day. The change in our classroom environment has been incredible — the room feels calmer, transitions are quicker, and students are more responsible for their own materials. One special moment that stands out was during our first group reading project. The students were thrilled to pull out their novels from their own seat pockets without having to dig through a pile or ask where their book had gone!\r\n\r\nWhen the chair pockets arrived and were placed on the backs of their chairs, the excitement was contagious. Students immediately started organizing their supplies and proudly showing off their \"new desks.\" It might seem like a small change, but to our class, it was a big deal — it gave them ownership over their space and made them feel more like real scholars. Thank you for believing in our classroom and supporting our learning in such a meaningful way. Your kindness has truly helped build a more focused, confident, and happy group of learners.","fullyFundedDate":1698520153315,"projectUrl":"project/seat-sacks-for-wonky-desks/7629618/","projectTitle":"Seat Sacks for Wonky Desks","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barefoot","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9111996_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690046799860","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9111996"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49869","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":764,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":28,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"31.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.9,"schoolId":49869,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Jackson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Jackson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/jackson-county-school-district/north-jackson-elementary-school/49869"}
