We've been incorporating the magazines into our weekly French lessons, using the articles to practice reading comprehension, build vocabulary, and spark conversations entirely in French. One memorable moment was when students worked in small groups to read an article together and then proudly shared what they understood—many were surprised by how much French they could already read and understand.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the magazines, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. They loved that the materials felt \"real\" and authentic, like something a student their age in a French-speaking country would read. The colorful photos, engaging topics, and age-appropriate articles immediately captured their attention and motivated even hesitant readers to participate.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our next steps include using *Allons-y!* as a foundation for ongoing projects, such as creating short written responses, discussing cultural topics highlighted in the magazine, and connecting what we read to speaking and listening activities. Students will also use the magazine as inspiration for their own mini-articles in French. One small moment that stood out was when a student confidently came to the classroom knowing we had what they needed; after a bandage and a snack, they were able to return to learning with a smile.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the supplies, they were genuinely excited and relieved. It has been a lot of fun for the students and a great way for me to get some good data. \r\nThe first thing we did was measure everyones vertical jump height so we have a base measurement. We will continue to track our progress throughout the year to see the impact of our strength and conditioning work outs. Your contribution made it possible for our students to engage in meaningful, active learning experiences that they will remember for years to come.\r\n\r\nOur classes have been having an amazing time with the Ball Hoop Toss activity, which combines the volleyballs you provided with the hula hoops in a challenging and exciting way. While I am a strong advocate for technology, I also believe deeply in the timeless power of reading, and I wanted this first semester to show my students just how meaningful and rewarding it can be.\r\n\r\nThe second phase of the project involved creating a welcoming classroom space where students could take turns reading in comfort, surrounded by an atmosphere that celebrates books. As the photos show, they dove right into hands-on problem solving. \r\nThis is the first year that our robotics teams have ever been able to start practicing before the school year begins, something that's been a big advantage for teams from more established or better-funded programs. This platform gives them a huge bank of practice questions modeled after the AP Exam, but what really stands out is how it explains each answer in detail. It's like they've each got a wise, patient tutor tucked into their browser. For students who don't usually have access to expensive test prep resources, this has been a game-changer. They're getting the kind of focused, self-guided practice that helps them learn from mistakes and build real skills.\r\n\r\nWhat my students love most is how Albert puts their progress front and center. They can track how they're doing in different topic areas, and many of them have started setting little goals for themselves—trying to bump their accuracy up a few points each week. It's not uncommon now to see them hunched over their screens at lunch or after class, excited to \"level up.\" Some even said it felt like a game, which for teenagers, is high praise! And best of all, it's helping them feel more prepared—and less intimidated—as the big test day approaches.\r\n\r\nThere are so many individual wins, too. One student, Marisol, told me Albert makes her feel like she's not guessing anymore—she actually understands the reasoning behind her answers. Another, David, says it helped him learn how to \"think like a computer scientist,\" which I thought was pretty spot-on. These are students who dream of being the first in their families to go to college, and because of you, they're one step closer. It's like having a personal tutor that never gets tired. For many of my students, this is their first time using a resource that's truly designed for self-paced, independent learning. And let me tell you, they're rising to the challenge!\r\n\r\nThe most exciting thing for my students is that they can see their growth in real time. The platform shows them how they're doing by topic, so they know where they're strong and where they need a little more elbow grease. A few of them even got a little too excited when they realized they could compete with themselves to improve their scores every day. I've caught kids staying after school, huddled over their Chromebooks, cheering when they get a tough question right. And yes—some have even logged in over the weekend (voluntarily!) to get in a few extra rounds of practice.\r\n\r\nOne student, Jennifer, told me she likes Albert because it \"talks to her\" like a person—not just right or wrong, but explaining why an answer makes sense. Jennifer's the first in her family to take an AP class, and watching her confidence grow has been one of my favorite things this year. Another student, Eduardo, said using Albert made the test feel \"less scary\" and helped him figure out how to approach tricky questions.
