Because of your generosity, our kitchen space has been transformed into a hub of imagination and hands-on discovery.\r\n\r\nThe Big Reveal\r\nWhen our Learners first saw the new wooden stations, stainless steel bowls, and oversized whisks, there was an eruption of cheers and clapping. The pure excitement in their eyes was a testament to how much they craved this type of sensory play.\r\n\r\nA Special Moment in \"Cafe Luna\"\r\nWe opened up the cafe indoors, as it was too cold to go outdoors. The students immediately got to work creating meals, chopping the veggies, and laughing as they decided the best set up for the kitchen.\r\n\r\nI watched as one particular student, who struggles to work with others, working alongside their peers to make a \"salad.\" They were negotiating, sharing tools, and communicating about the ingredients that would work best wearing giant smiles. It wasn't just play; it was a complex lesson in teamwork and communication.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Learners?\r\nCafe Luna has sparked a new curiosity about the natural world. Our next step includes outdoor Implementation. In the spring we will be moving Cafe Luna outdoors, where we will continue working in nature to create unique dishes, learn about different cultural dishes, and grow our vocabulary with a bilingual \"Moon Dust Menu.\" \r\n\r\nYour support did more than just buy materials; it provided a stage for our students to build confidence, language skills, and lifelong memories.
