Because of your kindness, my third graders now have access to wonderful resources that make a difference in their school day. The snacks help keep little minds focused and ready to work, while the headphones and computer mice allow students to work more independently and successfully during our technology-based lessons.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting additions to our classroom has been the LEGOs and Play-Doh! My students absolutely love them! Whenever they have free time, these are some of the first things they reach for. It has been wonderful watching them use their imaginations, build creative designs, and work together with their classmates. What may seem like simple classroom materials has become an opportunity for creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and building friendships.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, we look forward to incorporating these resources into our daily routines and creating even more opportunities for students to learn, explore, and grow. Your generosity has provided more than just supplies. You have helped create a classroom environment where students can feel comfortable, confident, and excited about coming to school. With your contribution, we were able to purchase car tracks, sensory tubes, and magnetic cubes for both of our elementary buildings. Students have already been using these materials and enjoying them.\r\nThe students were so excited to see packages arriving to our classroom. They waited eagerly while I opened them and were surprised at the contents. The immediately went and got racing cars to send down the tracks. By attaching the tracks to the windows, they were able to create race tracks for their cars. They use stop watches to time their runs and kept track of their times on the whiteboard. When done, they created a graph to show the spread of the data. As you can see, this was a great way to incorporate math into our classroom. \r\nThe sensory tubes have been useful in the self contained classes. These students sometimes feel overwhelmed and the enjoy watching the colored oil float inside the tubes. It provides a safe way for them to regulate and feel calm, thus allowing them to return to the lesson more quickly. \r\nThe magnet cubes have also been a hit. Students have been practicing following directions to create different 3D animals and shapes. They also have been designing their own projects and building them with our new supplies.","fullyFundedDate":1768792653660,"projectUrl":"project/stem-supplies/10041412/","projectTitle":"STEM Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6348742"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_83502","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":362,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":77,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":14,"gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.6,"schoolId":83502,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/east-liverpool-city-school-district/north-elementary-school/83502"}
