In their absence I would like to explain the impacts they've had on my class and LGBTQ+ Club!\r\n The rug has been one of my favorite things in my classroom I have ever received. It makes the room feel brighter, safer and provides a place to sit and meet. Even the custodians have complimented it and told me it makes them happy when they see it. \r\nMy club and classes use it to sit on when we watch videos on screen. It also had made myself safer covering up some wires kids could trip over.\r\n The snacks have also made the club meetings better! After a long school day, the kids could use a little snack. I feel it has also increased the membership of kids coming to our club meetings! We are so grateful. From this project we received items like bean bag chairs, an electric sharpener, tissues, snacks, and markers! All very generous items we are STILL appreciating now.\r\n My students were and still love to use the bean bag chairs in class for flexible seating. They were a big hit and still are. The electric sharpener has been really helpful as well, I still get compliments from kids on how well it works. The markers also help students to create projects like Anti-Bullying posters. In school where most things are done online, bringing the creativity back into the classroom with paper and drawing is very helpful. Snacks and tissues have also been things we are super grateful to have received. Especially in the cold, flu, and allergy seasons tissues are awesome to not have to worry about. The snacks have been great to help my kiddos stay focused as well as to support my after school club needs. \r\n Again, sorry my letters didn't seem to make it to you. The pencils and erasers ensure every student is prepared and able to participate, even when supplies run out during a busy school day. Tissues and hand sanitizer help keep our classroom clean and comfortable, which is especially important during the winter months.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the supplies, they were genuinely excited, especially the colorful markers and snacks! They immediately noticed that we had everything we needed and commented on how \"official\" and welcoming the classroom felt. Having snacks available has also made a huge difference for students who come to class hungry or need a quick boost to stay focused and engaged.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students can now focus fully on learning. Our next steps include continuing to use dry erase boards during problem-solving rotations and review games as we work through more complex math concepts. By providing my classroom with SuperSTEM magazines and Makedo cardboard construction kits, you have given my 6th graders the tools to bridge the gap between reading about science and actually doing it. I've been able to show my students that STEM is a doorway to incredible careers they never knew existed. We've used the \"Cool STEM Jobs\" section to talk about everything from Space Architects to Bio-engineers. It has shifted the conversation in our room from \"Why are we learning this?\" to \"I could actually do this for a living!\"\r\nWe have been using the Makedo Cardboard construction tools to help in creating our earthquake proof houses. The students were absolutely thrilled to handle tools that look and feel professional. When they first saw the saws and screwdrivers, one student exclaimed, \"We actually get to use saws?! This is real engineering!\" It immediately raised the stakes for them. They became more focused, more careful with their measurements, and more proud of their work because they felt trusted with high-quality equipment.\r\nThank you again for all of your support. Your contributions have brought a new level of excitement and hands-on learning to my classroom that simply wouldn't have been possible without you.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these materials was immediate. We recently used all of our new supplies for a major 7th Grade Engineering Challenge: building earthquake-proof houses! Students were tasked with designing structures that could withstand a 10-second \"quake\" on our shake table. It was amazing to watch them transition from theoretical sketches to physical models, using the supplies to create cross-bracing and reinforced foundations.\r\n\r\nWe are so lucky to have so many different supplies I have found that having a \"stash\" of supplies removed the fear of making mistakes; my students knew if a design failed, they had the resources to iterate, improve, and try again.\r\n\r\nNow that the students have tested their earthquake-proof houses, our next step is to analyze why certain designs succeeded while others collapsed. Using the same structural principals, I have my 8th graders starting a bridge-building unit to see how they apply to transportation. We will also be utilizing the STEM stash of supplies. \r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools to think like real engineers. We will be using them throughout our lessons and for interactive activities to help keep the classroom engaging! The erasers and sticky notes especially have been a big help while we our editing and revising essays.\r\n\r\nAll of the materials you were so generous to donate are already being utilized and so appreciated by me and my students. When the Chompsaws first arrived, my students were so excited to dive in and use them! We first went over safety and then they were ready to explore. It did not take them long to become pros at using all of the features the Chompsaw has to offer, like cutting perfect circles or precisely measured angles. My students feel like they are using power tools, giving them a sense of responsibility and maturity. \r\n\r\nA truly memorable project was our 6th Grade Assistive Device Challenge. Students used the Chompsaws to precisely cut the components for devices designed to help people with mobility limitations—things like custom grabbers, elevated reading stands, and adapted game controllers. Before your donation, cutting materials was slow and imprecise, limiting their designs. With the Chompsaws, the students could quickly and safely execute complex angles and shapes.\r\n\r\nOur second major success story came from the 7th Grade Egg Car Project, which focuses on engineering crash protection and energy absorption. Students were challenged to build a car designed to withstand a collision after traveling down a ramp, protecting the raw egg inside. The Chompsaws were such a great addition to this project as well. They allowed my students to cut precise measurements and angles to create the perfect frames for their cars. Previously, manually cut frames often resulted in wobbly structures and uneven weight distribution, leading to unreliable testing data. The Chompsaws allowed my students to focus more on the build instead of getting frustrated with tools that didn't work. \r\n\r\nI know that I will be using these Chompsaw for years to come during many different projects in my STEM class.
