When it arrived I opened it up before school, so that it was out to start the day. When my students entered the room they were all so excited and said \"Wow! That's so cool!\" It made them so happy to see rainbow smiley faces!! Even other teachers and staff members have commented on how the rug makes the room seem more welcoming and happy. \r\n \r\n All of my students now have a \"Smiley Island\" on the rug that they call their own. They like to stay on their island and out of the water like it's a game, but I secretly love that they are keeping their hands/feet to themselves and respecting each other's personal space. It may be just a rug, but it a rug that now acts as our meeting space and helps us build community. Just as I had hoped the rug brings joy to our classroom! On a personal note, the rug lifts my spirits during trying moments on difficult days. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing to donate to my classroom. The addition of a Smiley Face rug means more than I can put into words.
