Each item helps our class with daily routines and helps making learning more engaging. We use these items almost every single day! The students especially love the fancy new robot pencil sharpener because it is battery operated and can be brought to each table at the end of the day to sharpen all pencils at that table. This project helped make our Amazing Animals module so much more amazing! Students were absolutely thrilled to see the goodies that we received and I was just as excited as they were!\r\n We went on field work to our local zoo and students were able to choose a drawstring backpack to bring with them on the trip. They loved getting to choose from a variety of fun animals and having something that was theirs. They were able to carry their snacks, water bottles, sunglasses, jackets, and more in them. The backpacks gave them a sense of independence, belonging as a crew, and helped with responsibility. Some students even said they felt like 'professionals' with their backpacks as we studies the animals.\r\n To add in a little fun and matching for safety, we made shirts for our class. We used the iron-on vinyl to add each student's name. This made them feel special and our chaperones appreciated that as well.\r\n Our favorite part of this project was the bird feeder and seed! We put the clear acrylic bird feeder on the outside of our classroom windows and we had endless visits from birds each day! We were able to learn more about the types of birds that visited, observed which seeds they were choosing, and simply enjoy some giggles together.\r\n Thank you so much again! I can't wait to use the bird feeder again with my new class. This project was such a success for my students that I plan on creating another project just like it for this year.
