Before the gymnasium was deemed unsafe, I used the Volleyballs with my students and they were excited to see and work with new equipment. They really enjoyed playing and working on their skills. Our boys basketball team loved practicing with the set of basketballs and they finished their season with a winning record. They really appreciated having new equipment because my supply was wearing out quickly with so many using the equipment. The soccer balls were a big hit for the 7th and 8th because the soccer balls were the right size(5) that is recommended for middle school students. All the students from Kindergarten to 8th loved using the footballs because they were bright colors and had a good grip to them. \r\n\r\nOn the last day of school which is next week, we will use many of the balls during our School's last field day. Next Wednesday will mark the end of the school year for students and the closing of the school! My students will be moving and attending many different schools next year in the district. I will be at a new school next year and the equipment will definitely be used with my new students.\r\n\r\nThis was my first time using Donors Choose and it definitely will not be my last. With the generous donation has helped me focus on using my own money to help other's projects. Over the length of my teaching career, I have spent my hard earned money buying equipment that the schools don't have. I will definitely plan a new project when I move to my next school.","fullyFundedDate":1727645097211,"projectUrl":"project/sports-equipment-for-future-stars/8689444/","projectTitle":"Sports Equipment for Future Stars!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Patterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9697778"},{"teacherId":2531647,"projectId":8930576,"letterContent":"When we received the boxes from your generous donations, the students let up a cheers and were so excited to use the items. They loved playing with the bingo magnets and chips. We use these for math games, speech games etc. It makes it so much more fun to clean up after a game. Most of my students don't play board games at home like we use to and this gives the opportunity to do so, while helping with social skills.\r\n\r\nThe money game we purchased with your donations were perfect! Again they get to play engaging games, interact in appropriate social ways, while learning how to make change, give change and count coins. There is also a budgeting aspect to the game. Five of my students are going onto high school next year and will continue to use their budgeting skills.\r\n\r\n\r\nWe have worked on the solar model car and STEM magnets. We were having so much fun that I forgot to take pictures! The students were beyond ecstatic! We got to work on circuits, renewable energy. The solar powered car showed them how solar energy works. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generous contribution to our classroom. The color copies make it easier to recognize the different spheres and to identify the how each interacts with the environment.\r\nIn Math class, I have printed out colored materials such as multiplication tables, graphs and manipulatives. These materials have been laminated so that we can reuse them when need. This month students have been writing about famous African Americans. The students use these boards to practice, phonics and spelling skills. We are a middle school self contained classroom and have some students who are just emerging in their reading. We have been using letters on paper to practice Tier three reading supports. The students were so excited to get the new boards and letters. These boards are not simply letters, but they also show diphthongs and digraphs which help teach them patterns of the English language. The are also large enough in size for the student who has impaired eye sight and for the students that have difficulty with fine motor skills. My kiddos were so excited we used them the minute we received them.","fullyFundedDate":1732204252703,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-reading/8911376/","projectTitle":"Hands on Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tina M.
