During the workshop, students were introduced to various tools and strategies aimed at promoting emotional well-being. Each student received a positive affirmation sticker, a calming strip, and a stress ball to support their practice of coping techniques learned during the workshop.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the workshop, the School Counselor incorporated the use of a Liquid Motion bubbler during one-on-one counseling sessions. This sensory tool served as a helpful aid in fostering emotional regulation and mindfulness for individual students.\r\n\r\nInitially, some students were unfamiliar with the calming strip and expressed confusion about its purpose. The School Counselor provided a thorough explanation and demonstration of how to use the calming strip effectively. Following this, the students showed great enthusiasm and appreciation for receiving their own stress balls and Liquid Motion bubblers, demonstrating engagement and interest in applying the coping tools to their daily lives.\r\n\r\nOverall, the workshop and subsequent individual sessions successfully equipped students with practical resources to better manage stress and emotions, contributing positively to their emotional health and resilience.","fullyFundedDate":1739282335981,"projectUrl":"project/learning-to-cope/9054539/","projectTitle":"Learning to Cope!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Batista","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9893438"},{"teacherId":9728714,"projectId":8748848,"letterContent":"I have been able to do so much with the donated snacks and rewards. I am able to make a birthday package for each of my students at Newcomers as well as provide rewards for when a student does something extra kind or helpful. Part of the birthday package us a DIY creative activity. This donation was also the start of my classroom snack pantry.\r\n\r\nEach birthday package allows the students to decorate a pencil case with fabric markers. They get some scratch pads, stickers, glow sticks and a zee zees birthday bar. This is definitely one of the most special parts of this project. I also allow students who have gone above or beyond in some way to decorate a stained glass that they can take home or display on the window of the classroom.
