Thanks to Samsung Solve for Tomorrow awarding our team the STEMM Innovation Award and providing a $1,000 technology certificate, my students were able to continue developing a project they truly believed in and expand their learning far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe technology has helped students learn by giving them hands-on experience with problem solving, engineering design, collaboration, and iterative thinking. Instead of simply learning about STEM concepts from a textbook, students were able to actively apply science, technology, engineering, and math skills to a real-world challenge. They learned how to test ideas, troubleshoot problems, analyze results, and communicate their findings in meaningful ways. The experience transformed STEM learning from something abstract into something tangible and exciting.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for students is seeing that their ideas can have real value outside of school. Receiving recognition through Samsung Solve for Tomorrow validated the hard work they put into their project and gave them confidence in their abilities as young innovators. The award funding allowed them to improve and refine their work, and ultimately gave them the opportunity to continue pursuing the project at the regional science fair level. For many students, this was the first time they felt their classroom work connected directly to real-world innovation and professional STEM experiences.\r\n\r\nSeveral students especially flourished through this opportunity. Students who are often quieter in traditional classroom settings became leaders during project development because they could contribute through creativity, technical problem solving, and hands-on building. Other students who previously lacked confidence in STEM began taking pride in their abilities after seeing their ideas succeed and receiving outside recognition. The project created an environment where students felt ownership over their learning, and that sense of ownership significantly increased both engagement and persistence.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful to Samsung Solve for Tomorrow for investing in students in a meaningful way. Their support did far more than provide technology. It gave students the opportunity to see themselves as capable innovators whose ideas and work matter beyond the walls of the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768225228114,"projectUrl":"project/third-world-computer-v3/10006612/","projectTitle":"Third World Computer V3","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Beam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9440692"},{"teacherId":9575209,"projectId":9625295,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and support of my classroom. Because of you, my students now have access to books that truly speak to them—and that has made all the difference.\r\n\r\nI teach a class of reluctant readers, many of whom have struggled to see themselves as \"book people.\" When I inherited this classroom, the books left behind by a retired teacher simply didn't match my students' interests or reading needs. As a result, reading often felt like a chore instead of an opportunity.\r\n\r\nThe new books you provided have completely changed the atmosphere in our classroom. Students are excited to browse the shelves, recommend titles to one another, and—most importantly—choose to read. I've seen students who previously avoided books eagerly ask for more reading time and proudly talk about the stories they're enjoying.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just add books to our shelves—it helped build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging in reading. You reminded my students that their interests matter and that reading can be something they actually enjoy.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where reading feels welcoming and fun.
