They have made such an impact on the students I work with. Many of my students have sensory challenges, and they have benefitted from the headphones for things like fire drills and assemblies. These headphones have allowed them to participate comfortably in situations that can be incredibly overwhelming for them. It is such a relief when a student or teacher comes by door to ask for headphones, and I can hand them a pair to use. \r\nI have also been using the read aloud pens for severely dyslexic students so that they can still access work in class. Without these type of supports, all parts of the school day that involve any type of reading can feel difficult and defeating. \r\nMy students love acting out stressful or confusing situations using the little animal figurines. It serves as a way for them to process something difficult. They have also LOVED the color changing putty. \r\n\r\nAll of these tools have supported neurodiverse learners feel more comfortable, safe, and connected at school. With the 8 items you helped fund, everyone gets an opportunity to use the wobble stools and cushions regularly. \r\n\r\nSometimes the need to move can be a barrier to learning, but the wobble stools and cushions help meet this need without interrupting learning.
