We have been able to make our Recreation Center so much more interactive, and it just keeps getting better. The students love the trampoline, and it is suitable for all of them, ranging from our Pre-K to our High School Students. They are all able to join in the fun and jumping to the music. The interactive play system has been a game-changer with the students having access to various digital games. The flooring used, so that some of our students can access the activity wall has been a hit. The students enjoy being able to relax on the floor tiles or even the crash pad. \r\nWhen they walked in and saw the dumb bells and the trampoline, they were overjoyed. The exercise bicycle is also an item that has been getting its use by the students. They all need some support to use the items, but they feel as though this is their gym. Our students are able to explore and do everything anyone else can do at a gym. The dance mat has been quite something, with the students needing that extra assistance to take turns :) We just want them to be happy and are willing to do whatever we can to put a smile on their faces.\r\nWe are not done yet. We are continuing to add to the NKC City Recreation Center, and any donations are greatly appreciated. With the equipment that was purchased from the donations, the students have now been able to use the fitness equipment in the school's personal gym. The students are excited to walk in with their personalized gym badges to a place that was created just for them. Each student will have their individualized fitness plan that they can follow with the support of the amazing staff. \r\nIt has been so heartwarming to see the students' reaction to this area, that they can call it theirs. They have been engaged in the class and have shown progress with the knowledge of how to use the equipment. The calming toys you have given—sensory stress balls, textured fidgets, weighted lap pads, and other soothing tools—provide these students with an outlet to release tension, refocus their energy, and regulate their emotions.
