They will be able to read them during independent reading time. I am also exploring reading them to the class at the end of the day. It is so nice to have chapter books that kindergarten students can read independently. \r\n\r\nThe Map it paddles will be used during small group instruction as well at intervention time. This is going to help students understand and see that words are made up of different sounds. From rhyming games to syllable sorting to sound matching activities, my students are building the building blocks of language in meaningful and interactive ways. This project is helpful because I now have the materials to match every student where they are and what they need to work on. \r\nAlready, I've seen a difference. Students who once struggled to distinguish sounds are now confidently clapping out syllables and playing with rhymes during reading time. It's amazing what the right tools—and a little support—can do! Thank you so much for your generous support in funding our classroom project. Because of you, I was able to purchase the Level 2 Orton-Gillingham worksheets from The Literacy Nest—and they've been such a helpful and necessary resource for my students who are making great progress.\r\nThese materials have allowed me to take my instruction to the next level. With them, I've been able to teach more advanced phonics concepts. While having students practice word reading, sentence fluency, comprehension, grammar, and morphology. This well-rounded approach is so important for growing confident, capable readers.\r\nGrammar and morphology, in particular, are often overlooked but absolutely essential. Understanding how words are structured—the roots, prefixes, and suffixes—not only helps students decode new words more easily but also supports vocabulary development and comprehension. When students can break down words and understand their parts, they become more independent and flexible readers and writers.\r\nThanks to your donation, I've been able to move at a pace that matches my students' readiness and needs. These resources have helped me plan thoughtful, explicit, and structured lessons that truly meet my learners where they are—and push them forward.\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in our classroom and for giving us the tools to keep growing. Because of your full funding of our phonemic awareness project, our students have gained access to high-quality, engaging resources that are already making a real difference in their reading journey.\r\nPhonemic awareness is one of the most critical, and often the most challenging skills to teach. It's the foundation upon which strong reading abilities are built, and research in the Science of Reading consistently shows that students who struggle with reading later on often lacked these early skills. Your support is helping us address this gap head-on.\r\nThe activities you've provided have proven to be incredibly effective. They are designed to be used both independently and in small group interventions. Most importantly, the students love them.
