They are naturally drawn to the bean bag, soft rug, and the variety of fidgets, which make the space inviting and calming. Many students comment on how the lamp makes the room feel more comfortable since it's not overly bright. Altogether, it creates a safe environment where students feel at ease sharing what's on their minds, and it encourages them to engage in ways they may not have before.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless. Many asked, \"Whose office is this?\" and \"Can we come in?\" It gave me the perfect chance to explain my role as a school social worker. Students were quick to respond with excitement, saying things like, \"So I can come to talk to you about anything?\" These first interactions showed me how welcoming the space feels to them and how it sparks curiosity and connection.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, my next steps are to begin small groups with three to four students. These groups will provide more intentional time to focus on social skills, self-regulation, and building supportive peer relationships. Thanks to the new resources, I can create a setting that not only supports these lessons but also makes students genuinely look forward to participating.","fullyFundedDate":1750253172667,"projectUrl":"project/for-sel-social-emotional-learning-or-m/9376204/","projectTitle":"For SEL (Social Emotional Learning) or Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Allen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9575997_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1719285191245","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9575997"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79060","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":685,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":34,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.2,"schoolId":79060,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nathan Hale Magnet Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nathan Hale Magnet Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/omaha-public-schools/nathan-hale-middle-school/79060"}
