The addition of floor cushions, floor chairs, and yoga balls has given students the freedom to choose how they learn best. When they first saw the new seating, their excitement was overwhelming.\r\n\r\nWe've already put the flexible seating to great use during a civic engagement project, where students collaborated in groups to brainstorm community improvement ideas. Some chose to sit on the floor in circles, while others used yoga balls to stay focused during brainstorming sessions. The flexible setup has helped students feel more comfortable, take ownership of their work, and stay engaged throughout the day.\r\n\r\nUp next, students will be starting a research project connected to the Massachusetts Civics Project. Having the ability to choose their workspace will continue to support their focus and creativity as they dive into real-world issues.
