This project wasn't just for my class; it was for the whole 6th grade, approximately 125 students. The supplies were used to print, laminate, and assemble 30 board games and 102 decks of cards that can be used for math interventions and reteaching with all 6th-grade students. \r\n\r\nStudents have been enjoying the games and activities. It gets them away from the hum-drum worksheets. It gives them a chance to work together, help each other understand the concepts better, and learn through teaching. Students have been given the rule that if someone gets an answer wrong, they have to figure out the answer together before they can move on. Through this method, we have all seen massive growth in our students problem solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional communication. It's no longer just about the math. It's about ensuring that all their classmates are productive and understand the concepts together.","fullyFundedDate":1764427002614,"projectUrl":"project/lets-play-old-school/9657557/","projectTitle":"Let's Play... For some students, these snacks help them stay focused and energized throughout the school day. For others, they provide reassurance and comfort, especially on days when learning feels overwhelming or when food insecurity might otherwise distract them from participating fully.\r\n\r\nHaving a wide range of snacks allows us to be inclusive and mindful of different preferences and needs. Students feel seen and cared for when they are offered something familiar and comforting. The addition of storage and snack bags has also helped us keep everything organized and accessible, making distribution smooth and dignified for students.\r\n\r\nThis project has improved our classroom environment by creating a space where students know their basic needs matter.
