Because of your generosity, my students now have seating options that better meet their learning needs and help create a more comfortable, student-centered classroom environment.\r\n\r\nWe are using the new resources every day during lessons, independent work time, and small group activities. The wiggle stools, bungee chairs, and yoga balls have been especially helpful for students who need movement in order to stay focused. I have noticed increased engagement and attention during lessons because students are able to get their wiggles out in a productive way while still participating in learning. These resources have helped many students feel more successful and regulated throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were so excited. They were eager to try out the different seating options and couldn't believe they were for our classroom. There was a lot of enthusiasm right away, and they quickly understood that these new tools were something special. It has been wonderful to see how much pride they take in using them responsibly.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using flexible seating to support focus, independence, and engagement during our daily classroom routines. My students are working on building stamina during lessons and collaborative work, and these seating choices are helping them learn in ways that work best for their bodies and minds. The next steps are continuing to grow their responsibility, make thoughtful seating choices, and use these tools to support their learning across all subject areas.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and helping create a classroom environment where they can move, focus, and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1769178167817,"projectUrl":"project/work-out-those-wiggles/10029714/","projectTitle":"Work Out Those Wiggles!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. N.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1577686_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1492630830514","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/erin-norman"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42988","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":488,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.2,"schoolId":42988,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mullan Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mullan Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/spokane-public-schools/mullan-road-elementary-school/42988"}
