I would secondly like to sincerely apologize for this delayed thank you as when I read impact I wanted to wait for the season to end, so I could give you the reality of what you were able to give my kids. You are all truly amazing and your donation changed lives, the difference that was made was unfathomable to what I thought it would help when creating the project.\r\n\r\n The kids were absolutely ecstatic to see the items arrive as you are truly making a difference in these kid's lives. Your commitment to bettering our program, but more importantly, empowering the kids goes beyond words. To me building character and a strong mind is what athletics are all about and the kids that come through here begin with no prior soccer skills as well as confidence in the area. By your donation they build both. They had never had equipment for strength training, agility and building accuracy before. Not only did they use it every day at practice, but they would come to the field on weekends to practice getting better as I entrusted our captains with some of the gear for using outside practice. The gear is for them and should be available to their choosing while keeping it of course appropriately safe.\r\n\r\n This season the girls made school history in hanging the FIRST girl's soccer region banner for placing so high and becoming one of the few teams in the county's history for hosting a soccer state playoff game!!! 4 girls excelled in their skill so much throughout the season that 3 were offered 100k scholarships to Agnes Scott and the other 50k to Allen University (D2). 2 other seniors signed with the National Guard and 1 was picked by Positive Athlete to become their next video campaign for promoting positive mindsets in sports to becoming successful citizens in society. It is a partnership with the National Guard and her video should be coming out by Monday. The younger classmen go to witness some of the school's first soccer signings for college and have become inspired seeing that their dreams can be achieved and have already asked when can we start training for next season, which will begin in 2026. All of them will be joining Cross-Country with me in the fall to continue being able to use the equipment and train to get better, so they can make life changing decisions their senior year for opportunities they did not think was possible.\r\n\r\n I can not say thank you enough for all you have done for my kids and I hope to continue this momentum with the next project as more kids than I anticipated now want to be a part of this program/team from seeing how it affected their friends, but also become a school movement this past year with the hype it created with how well they were doing. It was heartwarming to get to see the direct impact it made on my kids and I am forever in your debt for your kindness. Thank you again for everything you did for them and I wish you and your families all the best!","fullyFundedDate":1723467996132,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-positive-mindsets-through-soc/8315797/","projectTitle":"Empowering Positive Mindsets Through Soccer","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Carroll","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9513007_orig.png?crop=750,750,x0,y150&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713454433038","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9513007"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54737","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1232,"numTeachers":82,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":66,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":27,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":41.2,"schoolId":54737,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mount Zion High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mount Zion High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/clayton-county-public-schools/mt-zion-high-school/54737"}
