More importantly, it serves as one of our final opportunities to come together as the Mount Vernon family before the school year concludes. This year, approximately 60 students participated, and the event was characterized by enthusiasm, laughter, and a tremendous sense of community.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful additions to this year's Field Day was the use of the banners created with the white paper your organization generously donated. Students were given the opportunity to develop team names and demonstrate their creativity and school spirit. Team names ranged from \"Da Goats\"—a name selected by two different teams—to the Greasers and \"Lakers in Five.\" The students' investment in creating their identities contributed significantly to their engagement and sense of ownership throughout the event. The banners were not simply materials; they became a vehicle through which students expressed creativity, collaboration, and school pride.\r\n\r\nThe donated materials also supported several of our Field Day activities. Students particularly enjoyed the tic-tac-toe relay, which encouraged teamwork, strategic thinking, and active participation as teams worked to achieve three in a row. The versatility of this resource will allow us to extend its impact well beyond Field Day. \r\n\r\nThroughout the upcoming school year, we anticipate incorporating the tic-tac-toe equipment into student clubs, schoolwide behavioral celebrations, team-building activities, and both team-sport and low-impact recreational opportunities.\r\nThe five-gallon water jugs will likewise provide continued value throughout the school year. Given the warm temperatures that often accompany both the beginning and conclusion of our school year, access to reliable water containers is particularly important during outdoor activities. These resources will allow us to better support student hydration and comfort during Field Day, athletic activities, clubs, and other outdoor events.\r\n\r\nStudents were visibly excited to see the new supplies and equipment available for Field Day. Although they were not initially informed of the community contributions that made these resources possible, their excitement reinforced for us the importance of recognizing the individuals and organizations who invest in our students. Moving forward, I intend to place greater emphasis on communicating these contributions to our students so they can better understand the role that community partners play in creating meaningful educational and extracurricular experiences. Your generosity represents one part of a broader network of community support that positively influences the lives of our students.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of the students and staff of Mount Vernon Middle School, thank you for your generosity and commitment to our school community. Your contributions directly enhanced the quality of our Field Day experience and provided resources that will continue to benefit students throughout the upcoming school year. Without the support of community partners such as you, providing an event that meets the high standards we strive to uphold at Mount Vernon would be significantly more challenging.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students, supporting our school, and helping us create experiences that foster connection, belonging, and school pride. Your generosity made a meaningful difference, and we are sincerely grateful for your partnership with Mount Vernon Middle School.","fullyFundedDate":1777768268220,"projectUrl":"project/field-day/10186158/","projectTitle":"Field Day","teacherDisplayName":"Coach DeCotis _ Staff - MtVernonMS","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10476436"},{"teacherId":9007402,"projectId":9909829,"letterContent":"Our True Book Fairs of 2025-2026 school year were a huge success and we gave away almost 100 books to our students and their families.
