Intended to help students master essential year-level mathematics skills and strengthen self-reliance ahead of assessments, these review sessions incorporate structured problem-solving with nutritional support to optimize student focus, engagement, and retention.\r\nProviding a light snack at the start of each review session has noticeably elevated energy levels and created a welcoming, supportive atmosphere. Attendance has remained consistently high, with students actively looking forward to the sessions. We just finished our 6th review session. Math review requires significant cognitive stamina, and by addressing basic nutritional needs before diving into complex, multi-step problems, students exhibit sustained concentration and less fatigue during both group and independent problem-solving. Furthermore, many parents have expressed their support and intent to join their children during the review sessions, and we are currently planning adjustments to the number of sessions and student groupings to accommodate all who wish to improve their math skills.\r\nThe review sessions have allowed for immediate feedback and targeted re-teaching of critical skills such as integer operations, algebraic expressions, equations, and multi-step word problems, ensuring students bridge learning gaps in real time. Growth in the Common Formative Assessments (CFA) was notable, with a 12% increase in proficiency. Beyond test scores, students are demonstrating a clear shift in attitude toward challenging math topics. Collaborative peer discussions and structured practice have fostered a resilient mindset and reduced math anxiety.\r\nBelow are a few words of gratitude to our donors and sponsors from participating students:\r\n\"We are really grateful! Snacks make Math worth it.\" \r\n\"Thank you for the snacks for our math review. It helped us get through our work and make us happy to learn\"\r\n\"Thank you for the snacks you give us so we have something to eat\"\r\n\"Thank you on the snacks and things you provided for us...you're so kind and generous.\"\r\nAs we continue through the planned 32 review sessions, we will monitor student progress through formative checks and benchmark performance. The positive momentum generated by this program underscores the importance of addressing both physical well-being and academic needs to foster meaningful achievement. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to empowering our students to achieve their full potential in mathematics.
