While it is not a \"new\" text we are introducing to the class, as we had 10 copies, we are able to broaden the choice the students will have when it comes to selecting the texts and now we are also able to offer reading circles throughout the entirety of the AVID Senior year because we have enough copies for students.\r\n\r\nThis particular book is opening up conversation with students about how to build strong and healthy habits, while evaluating why they may have some bad ones and what they can do about it. Once a week, the students sit in small groups and read their chapters, followed by discussion and reflection. The students have access to real world and immediate scenarios which they can start building prior to graduation and for many years after.\r\n\r\nI believe our classroom is a special place and your contribution continues to remind students they are important and the very best versions of themselves is needed in this world. Thank you so much for helping the students see they are valued.","fullyFundedDate":1762267692840,"projectUrl":"project/atomic-habits-for-avid-seniors/9852081/","projectTitle":"Atomic Habits for AVID Seniors","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Randle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2422805_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1476920255560","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2422805"},{"teacherId":9972189,"projectId":9189647,"letterContent":"What a great way to start the new school year! \r\nThanks to the wonderful donations, I was able to create a wonderful calming corner. They help to let students know that they matter and that they are not alone in what they may be experiencing.\r\nThe fidgets, play dough, stress relieving items, and all the valuable lessons to share will make a difference in the lives of our students.\r\nThanks to everyone who contributed to making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1744834219033,"projectUrl":"project/bring-change-to-mind-mental-wellness-m/9189647/","projectTitle":"Bring Change to Mind - Mental Wellness Matters","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hatfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9972189_orig.png?crop=126,126,x0,y2&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742420663370","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9972189"},{"teacherId":9609309,"projectId":8841124,"letterContent":"I am beyond thrilled and incredibly grateful for your generous support in funding our vertical whiteboards! We use them almost daily in my Filipino World Language and Math classes to make learning more interactive and hands-on. One unforgettable moment was during our Filipino lesson on asking and giving directions. Students worked in groups of 2–3, rearranging printed landmarks of the Philippines on the whiteboards. One team member, blindfolded, had to follow spoken directions from their teammates to find the destinations using a marker. It was heartwarming to hear so much laughter as they intentionally made the directions as long as possible, even when the destination was just nearby! The excitement and engagement they showed truly made the lesson come alive.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new whiteboards, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately understood that learning would be different—more active, more fun, and more collaborative. In Math, we use the boards during independent practice with a \"banner\" strategy, where students solve a problem, get it checked, and then hunt for the next one around the room. Watching them take ownership of their mistakes and learning has been incredibly rewarding. Thanks to your support, these whiteboards have already made a lasting impact on our classroom culture, and we look forward to using them for many years to come to continue making learning meaningful, energetic, engaging, and joyful! From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much.","fullyFundedDate":1738012986697,"projectUrl":"project/magnetic-vertical-whiteboards-for-engage/8841124/","projectTitle":"Magnetic Vertical Whiteboards for Engaged Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thomas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9609309_orig.jpg?crop=1984,1984,x331,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727632951688","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9609309"},{"teacherId":9829158,"projectId":8925810,"letterContent":"We cannot thank you enough for all of the support. We have experienced so much success with this that we originally were going to start with one group of 10 boys. This then broke into 2 groups of 10 boys, and we have more that are signing up to participate. They have enjoyed the activities and are always excited for snacks. \r\n\r\nThey boys have come together to grow and become mature young adults, many of them feel empowered to help others and find common interest with other students on campus.
