Every time a student walked into the library, they had the same reaction: \"Wow!\", \"It looks so nice!\", \"I love the colors!\", \"It feels so cozy!\" Their faces lit up as they explored their new space. Most students were most excited for the button maker! From the moment we set it up, students have asked to make buttons and suggested new designs. We even used it at our organization fair! (And it was a big hit!)\r\n\r\nOur current school year is ending on a positive note because of the positive changes that occurred in our library. As we look forward to the next year, we are excited about the possibilities of our new space! With our new craft items, we can offer more activities throughout the school year, and our new button maker will continue to bring joy and excitement to the students. Now that the space is nicer, we can hold more student-oriented activities in the library, and everyone will feel welcome and comfortable! There is still more we can do, but these steps were necessary to move us forward in the right direction. Thank you so much for your donation. The lap desks and bean bag chair you provided have transformed our independent work times. My students eagerly use the new resources during activities like working on individualized skill plans or listening to online books. One standout moment came during a recent reading intervention session: a student who usually struggles with focus chose a lap desk and settled on the floor. They stayed engaged with their book for the entire session—a huge milestone. It's incredible to see how these flexible seating options encourage focus and comfort, creating an environment where my students can thrive.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the students were curious and excited, immediately asking how they could use them. The bean bag chair quickly became a favorite spot, and the lap desks are constantly demanded for floor work. As we continue our journey, I plan to add more flexible seating options so every student can benefit from this supportive learning setup. Your support has already impacted their academic success, and I can't thank you enough for helping create a classroom where learning feels comfortable and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1725244326727,"projectUrl":"project/creating-flexible-seating-for-enhanced-l/8699948/","projectTitle":"Creating Flexible Seating for Enhanced Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mata","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9705169_orig.jpg?crop=900,900,x0,y129&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725628805219","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9705169"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13880","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":383,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":13880,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Academy High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Academy High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/santa-gertrudis-independent-school-district/msc-183-academy-high-school/13880"}
