The books, especially our class sets of Le Petit Prince, have given my students the opportunity to experience authentic French literature together. We are using the books for reading, discussion, vocabulary development, and cultural connections, while also practicing speaking and comprehension skills. Our whiteboard markers and individual student whiteboards are used daily for quick responses, vocabulary practice, and low-pressure opportunities to show what students know. We are also using the coffee for our \"Café et Conversation\" activities, where students practice having real conversations in French in a more relaxed and authentic setting. Even the pencils, pens, and Lysol wipes make a huge difference in keeping our classroom running smoothly and making sure students have the basic supplies they need to participate.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students settle into a \"Café et Conversation\" activity with a cup of coffee and realize that they are actually having a conversation in French. These moments help French feel less like a school subject and more like a language they can genuinely use.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited to see the new materials, especially the Le Petit Prince books and the coffee! Having their own classroom resources makes them feel prepared and gives them a sense that the classroom is a place where they are expected to participate and grow. The individual whiteboards have also been a hit because students can try an answer, make a mistake, erase it, and try again without feeling embarrassed. It has created more opportunities for everyone to participate, not just the students who are always comfortable raising their hands.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue reading and discussing Le Petit Prince while building students' confidence with speaking and comprehension. Students will work with partners and small groups to discuss the characters, themes, and important moments from the story in French. We will also continue our \"Café et Conversation\" activities so students can practice using French spontaneously and develop the confidence to communicate without worrying about being perfect.\r\n\r\nThese resources are helping us create a classroom where students have the tools, support, and opportunities they need to take risks with a new language.
