Having access to engaging, high-quality books in multiple copies has created excitement around reading that we have not seen before. Students are eager to begin each new novel study, and they look forward to the opportunity to read and discuss stories together. These books have brought reading to life in a way that feels meaningful, collaborative, and fun.\r\n\r\nOur students are not only enjoying the books, but they are also growing as readers and thinkers. Their conversations about characters, plot, and themes have become deeper and more thoughtful. For many students, these literature sets have opened up a literacy world they did not know existed. They are discovering the joy of getting lost in a story, connecting with characters, and seeing themselves in books. It has truly given learning a whole new meaning in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of the clearest signs of this impact is that students are already asking for sequels and more books by the same authors. They want to keep reading long after our lessons are finished. That excitement and curiosity is something every teacher hopes to inspire, and it has been made possible through the kindness of our donors. These literature sets are helping create lifelong readers, and we are so grateful for the opportunities they have provided our students.","fullyFundedDate":1769527980965,"projectUrl":"project/journey-through-the-pages/10056826/","projectTitle":"Journey Through the Pages!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McElwee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4716243_orig.png?crop=312,312,x0,y39&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769192757550","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-mcelwee"},{"teacherId":8372212,"projectId":9230702,"letterContent":"Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to broaden their world of reading. Last year, we began a series about National Parks and the students loved learning about their adventures. Your donation allowed my students to continue in the adventures of these same characters. My 4th graders from last year were excited to flip through the pages and search which National Park and animal would be in this year's books now that they are big 5th graders. My incoming 4th graders are about to begin their learning about National Parks starting in a few weeks. Each 4th grader in the U.S. has the possibility of getting a free National Park Pass for themselves and their carload through the National Park Service. These books help to ignite a love for the outdoors in my students.\r\n\r\nAn example of how these donations helped our students occurred last week. When I pulled the Campground Kids books out one by one, a current 5th grade student was so excited to share that he and his family were able to visit the Grand Canyon this summer. He had no idea what or where the Grand Canyon was prior to our projects and reading of these books. Thank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1747879739390,"projectUrl":"project/national-parks-reading-adventures/9230702/","projectTitle":"National Parks Reading Adventures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Huibregtse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8372212"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54459","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":364,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"11.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":69.7,"schoolId":54459,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mountain View Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mountain View Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/humboldt-unified-school-district/mountain-view-elementary-school/54459"}
