The carry-all caddy has been instrumental in helping me organize and carry the appropriate materials with me throughout the day. I work in a number of different locations throughout our school during the day, and I appreciate knowing that it's easy to grab what I need quickly and easily. It has made transitioning from one group to another much more manageable for me this year. Although it was more a donation for me, rather than my students, they benefit immensely from the organization it provides me.\r\n\r\nI also want to send a huge thank you for all of the bingo games and the sequencing game you helped provide for student use. I am trying a new thing this year where every Friday is a game day with my TESOL groups! The students are loving it! I have so far been able to introduce 4 out of the 5 games that were donated: I Spy- Eagle Eye, as well as the following Bingo games: Beginning Sounds, Picture Words, and Rhyming. \r\n\r\nThese games have provided a fun way for the students to participate orally and enhance their discourse amongst themselves, as well as help grow their vocabulary. These are all skills that I work on across my grade levels depending on students' abilities. These new games have provided a fun and engaging way to help my students grow as English learners. \r\n\r\nThe sequencing game that you provided helps my students across ability levels as well. For the younger, or less proficient students, just being able to put the pictures in the correct order is a start. From there they can then add vocabulary words, then sentences. For my more advanced students, they are writing stories to accompany the pictures once they are in order. It fosters discussion as the students debate which order the pictures should be placed in. They are constantly trying out new language skills and vocabulary as they try to piece together the story and tell it in their own words. It has also helped them learn more about using transition words such as then, next, and last. \r\n\r\nI can't thank you enough for helping me engage my learners better through play!","fullyFundedDate":1747841732288,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-play/9320103/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Play!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ouellette","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9458795_orig.jpg?crop=288,288,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1707140958222","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9458795"},{"teacherId":7633712,"projectId":8986470,"letterContent":"Thank you — You're helping Kindergarteners thrive at Mountain View and Ivy Drive Elementary!\r\nOn behalf of the Kindergarten team at Mountain View Elementary, thank you for funding our DonorsChoose project, \"Fine Motor PromOTer\" Your generosity provided play-based occupational therapy materials designed to strengthen fine motor skills, visual tracking, and social regulation — all essential foundations for reading, writing, and emotional well-being. When the students watch me come in, they are filled with excitement and joy. \r\nMany of our youngest students may begin school with delayed visual-motor coordination, which can make writing and reading more challenging and impact confidence. Because of your gift, have been able to use play to build those skills in our Kindergarten classrooms in a way that feels joyful and engaging for children. These materials directly support the Every Student Succeeds Act's goal of giving learners access to interventions that promote academic and social-emotional success.\r\nWhat's next:\r\nWe will continue to distribute and utilize the play based academic materials. \r\nTeachers and I will implement structured play activities across 6 Kindergarten classrooms which have already started!\r\nWe will monitor progress and gather observations for MTSS.\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your support. Your gift will help students gain confidence, build early literacy and writing skills, and foster a love of learning that lasts.
