These books are helping students build important skills such as analyzing character development, identifying themes, making inferences, and supporting ideas with text evidence. We are also using them to practice reading fluency and to strengthen vocabulary through context clues—all while fostering a lifelong love for reading.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading looks like a mix of whole-class discussions, small literature circles, and cozy independent reading time. Some days the room is filled with lively debates about a character's choices; other days, there's a quiet hum as students are completely absorbed in their books.\r\n\r\nA few students, in particular, have blossomed with these new novels. One reluctant reader now rushes to grab the next book in a series the moment she finishes the first. Another student who previously struggled to connect with reading has found a story that mirrors his own experiences, making him eager to share insights with the group.\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than add books to shelves—you've opened doors to new worlds, sparked curiosity, and given students the tools and confidence to think critically. We are deeply grateful for your investment in their growth.","fullyFundedDate":1746786425065,"projectUrl":"project/fall-in-love-with-reading-again-again/9135691/","projectTitle":"Fall in Love with Reading Again & Again!!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9063352_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685502903422","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9063352"},{"teacherId":9904482,"projectId":9074794,"letterContent":"The donation of over-the-ear headphones has transformed our classroom, creating a more focused and efficient learning environment. Students appreciate their comfort, and the noise-blocking feature helps minimize distractions, allowing them to stay immersed in their learning.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting difference in our students' education. The flexible seating allows my students to choose from various seating arrangements—whether it's sitting on stools, cushions, or bouncing balls —enabling them to find the best position for focus and comfort. This has led to a noticeable improvement in their attention and participation.\r\n\r\nThe STEM tools have also opened up new opportunities for hands-on learning, encouraging my students to explore science, technology, engineering, and math concepts in a fun and interactive way. One of our most exciting projects involved building simple machines using new materials. The students worked together to design and test their creations, which not only taught them about basic engineering concepts but also fostered important skills like teamwork and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThe moment we first introduced the materials, the students were thrilled. Their eyes lit up with excitement as they saw the colorful seating options and the variety of STEM tools. Many of them immediately began experimenting with the new resources, eager to explore and learn. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity in action.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, to be able to create a learning environment that is dynamic, interactive, and tailored to the needs of each student. I am incredibly grateful for your support, and I am excited to continue watching my students grow and thrive with these new resources.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for making this possible. I look forward to keeping you updated on how these tools continue to positively impact our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1726728798892,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-transitional-kindergarten-lear/8652721/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Transitional Kindergarten Learning with Flexible Seating & STEM Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Perez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9506443_orig.png?crop=1161,1161,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1712292372427","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/veronicaperez24"},{"teacherId":9696893,"projectId":8688386,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the headphones that you provided for my students. Students were so excited to see when the wobble stools came in because I told them about this project. Since then, we are using the wobbles stools everyday! Every morning when we start our day, I'll go down my checklist of names and students will rotate through the wobble stools. Every student gets a full day of using it before passing it along to the next person the day after. Students are always very excited to hear who will be next and sometimes when I forget in the mornings too, my students will remind me. I find that it is very helpful because more and more students now have lots of wiggles these wobble stools help them manage it in an acceptable way in the classroom.
