All of our students have a bean table where they get to work collaboratively with others or join their teacher for small group instruction. A new 5th-grade class was opened to alleviate teachers with larger class sizes, which is how my class was formed. I have 28 students but no place to hold small group instruction. A bean table will make it possible for my 5th graders to join me comfortably for small group work and to collaborate on different projects with their peers. With a bean table, math intervention, book club, and lunch with the teacher are possible.
