There were gasps, cheers, and a few \"Can we play them right now?!\" moments. It was such a joy to watch their excitement as they discovered the different sounds each drum could make. We have gotten multiple jam session going, and the smiles have said it all.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've been using the drums to build our rhythm skills and learn how to play together as an ensemble. It's amazing to see how the drums help students get a new perspective on listening to one another and keeping a steady beat. The whole school is learning that music isn't just about notes. It's about teamwork, communication, and creativity.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be diving into more formal drum circle lessons, where we'll explore a variety of musical traditions and genres. I can already tell this is going to be one of their favorite parts of the year. Thank you so much for giving my students the chance to experience the joy of making music together. Your generosity has truly made a difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1752586520374,"projectUrl":"project/bobcat-beats/9351951/","projectTitle":"Bobcat Beats","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1495309_orig.jpg?crop=375,375,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619627140233","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msbean"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_126580","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":665,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"41.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":77.7,"schoolId":126580,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mountain View Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mountain View Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/burke-county-school-district/mountain-view-elementary-school/126580"}
