These tools have quickly become the talk of the school, and students from kindergarten through 5th grade have all had opportunities to safely design, build, and create with them.\r\n\r\nThe excitement and pride our students feel is incredible to watch. They are constantly asking when they can use the machines again and eagerly showing off their projects to teachers, classmates, and friends. Even students who are sometimes hesitant in traditional classroom settings are confidently creating, problem-solving, and sharing ideas.\r\n\r\nThe ChompSaws were unfortunately out of stock for quite a while, which delayed some of our planned projects, but now that they have finally arrived, the creativity has truly taken off. Students are already imagining bigger and better builds, and we are so excited for all the designing, engineering, and making that will happen next year.\r\n\r\nThis donation has helped create a space where students feel inspired, capable, and excited to learn. We are incredibly thankful for your support and hope to continue growing our makerspace in the future, so even more students can experience these amazing opportunities. These machines are in such high demand because we only have a few, so we will definitely need to fundraise for some more Chompsaws this upcoming school year!","fullyFundedDate":1761232986307,"projectUrl":"project/makers-in-motion-cardboard-engineering/9788407/","projectTitle":"Makers in Motion: Cardboard Engineering with Robots and ChompSaws","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carroll","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3551952_orig.jpg?crop=660,660,x0,y70&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1665677736450","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3551952"},{"teacherId":3551952,"projectId":9316006,"letterContent":"The impact of this project was incredible for my students. They were absolutely thrilled to learn how to create their own video games, but the excitement grew even more when they realized they could download and play the games on an actual handheld device. Seeing their ideas come to life in a real, interactive way made the experience feel meaningful and exciting.\r\n\r\nStudents designed their own backgrounds, characters, animations, and graphics while learning the foundations of coding through MakeCode Arcade. They showed tremendous creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance as they tested and improved their games. Even students who are sometimes hesitant in traditional classroom settings became highly engaged and eager to participate.\r\n\r\nThis project sparked a genuine interest in coding and technology. Many students continued talking about their games outside of class and were constantly asking to learn more advanced arcade coding skills. The experience helped students see themselves not just as players of technology, but as creators and designers capable of bringing their own ideas to life. While their pictures weren't all smiles because they were concentrating, they were seriously beaming with pride!","fullyFundedDate":1755841095142,"projectUrl":"project/from-coders-to-creators-game-on-with-ma/9316006/","projectTitle":"From Coders to Creators: Game On with Makecode Arcade!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carroll","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3551952_orig.jpg?crop=660,660,x0,y70&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1665677736450","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3551952"},{"teacherId":9485500,"projectId":9944340,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. They have also utilized the flexible seating options for small group assignments, and we have used the flashlights for a science experiment on shadows for Groundhog Day! Students are working extremely hard to achieve their goals in order to earn an incentive prize that was graciously provided with your donation. It was amazing to see their excitement as they made new discoveries they could actually see and touch!\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable experiences was raising butterflies in our classroom. Students carefully observed each stage—from tiny caterpillars to chrysalises to beautiful butterflies—and documented their observations along the way. This hands-on learning experience helped them understand life cycles in a way that no textbook could capture.\r\n\r\nMany of my students come from diverse backgrounds and haven't had opportunities to explore science in this way before.
