From the very first day, your donation has made an impact. We read \"First Day Critter Jitters\" on the first day of school to help ease any uneasiness. Your donation helped the students feel welcome and at ease in the class.\r\n\r\nThis month is Hispanic Heritage Month. Thus far, we have read \"Dreamers\". Some of my students were excited to hear the familiarity of Spanish in this book. They were eager to help translate and share experiences similar to those in the story. I think this book helped the students see themselves and their stories reflected. Next on our list is \"What Will You Be?\" I hope this book inspires students to dream big and pursue anything they choose to be in life.\r\n\r\nAs we continue into the school year, we will use your donations to read and build a sense of community and understanding. \"How to Write a Story\" will directly impact and introduce writing to the students. The \"On Strike\" series will provide gentle reminders about maintaining and taking care of our supplies. Lastly, the rest of your donation will be used for read-alouds to support ELA comprehension and learning activities.\r\n\r\nI am forever thankful for your direct contribution to the classroom and, most importantly, to the sense of community and belonging in my class.","fullyFundedDate":1752857243733,"projectUrl":"project/diverse-books-for-belonging-building-co/9453253/","projectTitle":"Diverse Books for Belonging: Building Community Through Read Alouds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Delgado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10072919_orig.jpg?crop=2064,2064,x0,y55&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751957590153","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10072919"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7133","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":854,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":86,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":95,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.5,"schoolId":7133,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Montague Charter Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Montague Charter Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/montague-street-elementary-school/7133"}
