When we have quieter individual work time, or instruction time gathered on the floor, the room is calm and dim. When the students need more light for a project or are working collaboratively the lights are brighter letting them know they can be more active around the classroom. I have noticed a big impact the lights have had on more energized classes by offering a calmer space for them to focus in. Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom and offering this amazing tool to my students, it seems small, but it has made a huge difference!","fullyFundedDate":1766967151993,"projectUrl":"project/light-is-the-energy-around-us/9948006/","projectTitle":"Light Is the Energy Around Us!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hutchens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10348260"},{"teacherId":9721859,"projectId":9427102,"letterContent":"We just started our Realistic Fiction unit and are reading the books you donated together as a class. The 3rd graders are hooked! The Zach and Zoe Mysteries are a realistic fiction and mystery series about two 3rd graders who compete against each other in sports and work together to solve the mystery of the missing baseball.\r\nOur classes have been even more invested in solving the mystery and finding out how the book ends than we were expecting! We have had great discussions and written responses keeping track of clues, making predictions, and making connections between the text and our experiences. This story has lent itself so well to both ELA lessons and to life lessons about working with others and sportsmanship.\r\n\r\nTo keep the books in working order for years to come I reinforced all of the spines with heavy-duty tape and labeled them incase they make their way out of the classroom (you never know when you're working with kids).\r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this unit possible! I think it's safe to say that the kids are enjoying the books as much as the teachers are. It will be fun to see what the 3rd graders choose to write about for their own sports fiction stories over the next few weeks!","fullyFundedDate":1757010710174,"projectUrl":"project/sports-fiction-in-3rd-grade/9427102/","projectTitle":"Sports Fiction in 3rd Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Perkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9721859"},{"teacherId":9368829,"projectId":9121516,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to fund my classroom project \"Multiplication Mastery\"! My students have really enjoyed learning the Math 24 Game to practice their multiplication and division fluency. We use this resource almost every day during math group time. Students are assessed at the end of each week on their fact fluency. This game helps them successfully recall their facts to complete the assessment. \r\n\r\nWhen I first introduced this game to my students, it sparked a sense of joy and excitement around math facts. This can be a challenging piece of math to master, but with this game, students are eager to learn and become better at math! They look for ways to challenge one another and build their confidence in math fact mastery. \r\n\r\nI am planning to invite parents in to help students consistently play the Math 24 Game. There have been a few parents who have shown interest in pulling math groups during the day, and I think they would enjoy helping the students with their math facts with this game. One of our upcoming lessons is understanding concepts of multiplication, so I know we will continue to utilize this game throughout the entirety of the school year.
