Before this project, the room felt bare and clinical, almost like a hospital space, and the harsh overhead lights made it difficult for students to settle in and focus. Now, with soft lamps and Christmas lights creating a warm glow, I can turn off the overhead lights during independent work, and the entire atmosphere shifts. Students walk in and comment on how much calmer and more inviting the room feels, and several have said the new \"windows\" make the space feel bigger and more alive. During our first lesson after setting everything up, students actually paused before taking their seats just to look around and take it in. This calmer environment has helped them ease into discussions, stay focused longer, and feel more comfortable during group work and writing time. As we continue our current projects, this improved atmosphere is helping students engage more deeply and confidently. Thank you for making such a real difference in our daily classroom experience.","fullyFundedDate":1764958441285,"projectUrl":"project/bring-light-to-my-windowless-classroom/9835842/","projectTitle":"Bring Light to My Windowless Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Haggerty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp242401_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1464929972848","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/242401"},{"teacherId":9796235,"projectId":9080550,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our STEAM celebration. Our students worked extremely hard to create innovative projects and demonstrate their learning at the annual STEAM fair. Students used their own nintendo switches to create models and demonstrate the natural phenomena they were presenting. Other students used a tablet to create digital art using proportionality and scale factors. Another used his device to control a robotic arm! \r\n\r\nStudents were inspired by the work of their peers and enthusiastically tried to win the donated prizes. They saw a new range of possibilities for the technology besides just gaming. Students were most excited about discovering how a switch could be incorporated into a presentation. Your support means the world to our students, especially as they embark on the first-ever Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles course at our school. This has been a groundbreaking year for us, and while we've faced some technical challenges with limited memory on our school-issued ThinkPads, our students have remained dedicated, patient, and eager to learn. Your donations have made it possible for us to provide USB flash drives—an essential tool that will allow students to safely store and transport their coding projects between school and home.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our students now have greater flexibility and security when working on their projects.
