Students all have supply pouches that go home with them to use on daily homework assignments. Having supplies at home has made a huge impact and homework assignments return rates have increased tremendously. \r\n\r\nWhen I notice a student who has had the same uniform daily, I have given them a uniform shirt and their eyes widen with happiness. Along with the uniform they also receive socks and a hygiene pack to keep their items safe. During the first month or two of this school year the heat limited the amount of play my students were allowed to get. Each day my students could not wait for their second recess to build with the Legos and Magnetiles, or play a few rounds of a board game. A more recent moment was just last week when two of my students wanted to make a tower out of the Magnetiles. (With my supervision and help) one the students stood on the desk and was actually able to stack the tiles all the way to the roof. The smile and child like joy on this students face was so fun to watch!\r\n\r\nWhen I first told my students about the toys/games they were ready and moving to pick their activity before I was able to get it all unwrapped! I was expecting the same students to go to the same activities but, I have noticed that my students have picked not only a different activity to play each recess but they also have been playing and socializing with other students who are not part of their friend groups which has been beautiful to see!\r\n\r\nI can't wait for the rest of the year to watch my students continue to find their creativity, socialize with other students and simply be kids. The items you have helped my students receive in the classroom have been beyond helpful with classroom storage and management. The students have loved being able to access their books easily with chair sleeves and sharpening their pencils with the brand new sharpener. Students are able to focus better when taking tests with their testing dividers as well as have the option to move around the room during independent work time with their clipboards. \r\n When students first saw the materials they were very happy. They loved the colors and were so surprised that someone donated funds to help support their classroom. My next steps are going to be making sure students are using their items effectively.
