From the moment students enter my classroom at 8 am, we launch into a day of rigorous learning and community building that feels nonstop. However, at 10:35 am, right after their art, music, STEM, or P.E. class, the kids return to my room for a snack break to help them re-energize before lunch at 12:30. Because of your donation, when a kid in my class or another 5th grade class comes to me and asks \"Can I have a snack?\" I am able to say \"Yes.\" Every. Single. Time. And they're provided with a fruit cup or apple sauce or a granola bar - a nutritious snack that helps to fuel their brain and body until lunch. \r\n\r\nOr, when a student says \"I didn't eat breakfast this morning. My stomach hurts,\" they have a snack waiting for them. When a student says \"I got the last pick at lunch today and the food wasn't any good, so I barely ate anything,\" they have access to a healthy snack. When our dismissal was delayed due to a heavy storm and lightning in the area, I had a box of granola bars at the ready to help fill kids' bellies and calm nerves until it was safe to release kids to their families. \r\n\r\nAs you can see, the impact of your donation is felt every single day by the kids in my school community.
