We use these resources as a way to assist in their ability to regulate their emotions and get all of the energy out of their tiny little bodies. We want to ensure they are learning appropriate ways to do this and these materials have assisted in this. Many of our students receive, or need, occupational therapy to address their sensory needs and revamping this room has given their sessions more opportunities to address what it is the student needs. We are advocates for our littles and being able to give them what they need and meet them where they are is always a blessing when it is supported by those who do not even know them. \r\nThe students have been overjoyed with everything in the room. Their favorites so far have been the pretty lights coming from the sensory fish tube! They also LOVE the spinning fish chair and the ball pit! We even have some students that have visual impairments, so having the tactile mats for them to feel on has been helpful in addressing their sensory needs as well! Every day the students are able to go in there it is like the first time over and over again. As for what is next, the goal is to just continue meeting them where they are! We can only hope to continue to contribute to the sensory room and allow them to find new ways to express themselves. It is all about learning for these little ones and that is the environment that we hope to maintain and foster! Thank you again for every donation towards the kiddos and their needs. We truly appreciate it and you!","fullyFundedDate":1764604683228,"projectUrl":"project/safe-and-serene-sensory-room/9648504/","projectTitle":"Safe and Serene Sensory Room","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Heather","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9064319_orig.jpg?crop=1179,1179,x0,y310&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756088998669","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9064319"},{"teacherId":10096827,"projectId":9506173,"letterContent":"The generous donation of speech materials has made an immediate and meaningful impact on the students that receive speech services. These new tools have enhanced our therapy sessions by providing engaging, hands-on resources that support language development, communication practice, and individualized learning goals. My students were especially excited about the new applications and the Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) system added to the iPad. These digital tools have offered them new ways to express themselves, participate more confidently in activities, and explore communication in ways that feel accessible and fun.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the technology, the donated games, specifically category boxes, have quickly become speech room favorite. Nearly all of my students regularly request these materials, with the category boxes being the most popular because of their miniature, tactile items that make learning highly interactive. These materials not only keep students motivated but also help reinforce important skills such as categorization, vocabulary, turn-taking, and expressive language. Overall, the donated resources have transformed our sessions, giving students motivating opportunities to build communication skills in meaningful and enjoyable ways.","fullyFundedDate":1755728547012,"projectUrl":"project/soaring-for-speech-succeeding-over/9506173/","projectTitle":"S.O.A.R.ing for Speech!
