WIth your help we were able to obtain lots of fresh, new PE equipment for our room: two baseball tees, bats and balls, three magnetic bowling sets, and a kickball set including a ball pump. \r\n\r\nSo far, the baseball equipment has been the most popular. Many of my students had no previous experience with the game, and while the rules can be a little complicated, they've had a lot of fun practicing hitting off the tee. The bowling sets are great because they can be used inside or outside, depending on the weather and the surface conditions of our blacktop! The grass is a little too muddy right now to start kickball, but I look forward to beginning that unit in the dryer months. \r\n\r\nPE is many students' favorite part of the day and it's great having all of these options available for students. Students had so much fun when creating their art pieces. They learned about the artist Louise Nevelson and how she made sculptures with found objects. We made sculptures in her style by taking unifix cubes, dominoes, wood blocks, and other discarded materials and arranging them in cardboard boxes. We then spray painted them in either black or gold. \r\nWe used the metal steam punk gears to make steam punk insects. They also used the cameras to take photographs of specific color items.
