Our school is an urban school where very few students have access to space for any kind of gardening. With your generosity, we were able to clean up our old garden space of weeds. We found 3 kinds of mint and were able to eat the leaves right off of the plant! This was literally a milestone experience for the students to connect what we eat to plants. Students took such pride in the garden as we went weekly to help maintain and water the plants. We have a birdbath and the birdfeeders make for such a wonderful time outside. We did several days of relaxation and observation. We drew the garden, trees, and creatures that visited. We compared our drawings and literally got to see how our garden was growing right before our eyes. \r\n\r\n\r\nWe cannot wait for the next planting season and for the next generation of second graders to witness the magic of our garden.","fullyFundedDate":1713805325983,"projectUrl":"project/friendship-garden-jardn-de-la-amistad/8316668/","projectTitle":"Friendship Garden - JardÃn De La Amistad","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fink","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp360708_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1469932824394","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sra-fink"},{"teacherId":9119183,"projectId":9080179,"letterContent":"From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for the donations that are so positively impacting my English Reading intervention time.
