While we had some, it's useful to have enough for each student to interact and engage with the materials. My students begin by building single-digit numbers using unit (ones) cubes to reinforce place-value concepts. We model exchanging ten ones for one ten-rod so kids see how regrouping works concretely. Pairs practice composing and decomposing two- and three-digit numbers, representing hundreds, tens, and ones with the appropriate blocks. During addition and subtraction activities, kids manipulate the pieces to show carrying and borrowing visually before moving to abstract algorithms. The hands-on work has noticeably increased engagement and confidence with place value and regrouping.\r\n\r\nThe Spanish letters and sand timers have also been a great addition to our Spanish small group centers to improve biliteracy! My students are practicing Spanish phonics by matching letters to pictures and saying the sounds aloud. Small groups build simple words and read them together to reinforce decoding and vocabulary. Partners play a timed game to form as many Spanish words as they can, which boosts fluency and collaboration. I also use the blocks for quick formative checks! Students spell a word with blocks and I listen for correct pronunciation and letter order. \r\n\r\nI also appreciate the use organizers and plastic bags. I use the organizer to keep student supplies and small manipulatives sorted by activity (math counters, letter blocks, other miscellaneous items). The clear compartments make it quick to find materials during transitions, which reduces downtime and keeps lessons running smoothly. The bags are great for preparing individual student supplies for centers. My students can grab what they need independently to transition actives as quickly as possible. Together they help me maintain classroom routines, protect materials, and streamline my instruction.\r\n\r\nThanks again for providing these resources. I can see the kids excitement to grab the materials to start working in centers.
