The Henry and Mudge, Annie and Snowball, Nate The Great, and Mister Putter and Tabby Early chapter books are amazing for building the needed confidence first graders need to overcome the fear of 'chapter books'. When they think of chapter books they can often feel mortified, and these books help alleviate that anxiety and put them at ease. These books will also help explore various concepts like story elements, point of view, author's purpose, central message, and many more. The children will build extensive background knowledge and learn academic language.
