They have already made a meaningful impact on our learning environment. When the students first received them, they were absolutely ecstatic. Having the lap desks has given our classroom more flexible seating options, allowing students to comfortably spread out, collaborate, and engage more deeply in their work.\r\n\r\nThe timing was especially perfect as our class began our chick life cycle project. Students have been using the lap desks while observing the chicks, recording their observations, drawing and writing about each stage of the life cycle. The lap desks have made it much easier for students to sit near the brooder area and still have a stable space to write and work. In addition, many visiting students from other classes have come to observe the chicks, and the lap desks have helped accommodate everyone so they can participate in the learning experience.\r\n\r\nThese lap desks have truly enhanced our classroom's flexibility and engagement. They will continue to be used for years to come as part of many future projects, observations, and collaborative learning experiences. The Captain America books are also teaching lessons about kindness, teamwork, and doing the right thing. Because the characters are exciting and familiar, my students feel more confident trying to read in English.\r\nMany students who were shy or unsure about reading are now excited to read these books. The pictures help them understand the story, and they love talking about Captain America. Some students act out the stories, while others proudly share new words they have learned. These books have helped my students fall in love with reading. Glitter pens, anchor chart markers, laminating pouches, cardstock, and the pocket chart have all strengthened our learning environment by making our materials more engaging, organized, and durable. The students especially love when they get to use the special pens or see their work displayed using our new supplies.\r\n\r\nThe cookies and Skittles have been a huge hit as incentives, and the kids are always excited to receive a treat for their effort. Because of these rewards, I've already seen real growth in positive behavior, stronger participation, and a greater sense of pride in their work. They are truly working hard to earn their rewards, and the excitement on their faces makes each moment worthwhile.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to get a few more projects funded.
