As a teacher, it's often challenging for me to find the time to sit and write with the thought and intentionality you deserve. Please accept my immense gratitude for your kindness and generosity in providing supplies for our mental wellness club. From the moment the mini kraft paper journals arrived, students were excited to make them their own — decorating them with inspirational stickers and personalizing each cover to reflect their unique personalities. Every week, they open those journals to respond to prompts focused on gratitude and personal growth, and it's been incredible to see how those simple moments of reflection have helped students process their experiences and celebrate their wins.\r\n\r\nWhat's been even more transformative are the days when we set aside structured activities and just color together. With the mindfulness coloring books and Good Vibes coloring books you provided, students have had the chance to relax, chat, and build community in a low-stakes, supportive space. I didn't realize just how powerful these quiet, creative moments would be — they've given students space to be themselves and connect with each other in ways that feel natural and meaningful. The journal prompts book has also sparked thoughtful conversations about how to manage stress, support each other, and prioritize mental health. Thanks to your contributions, we've built a space where students feel safe, supported, and genuinely excited to show up each week. On behalf of my students, thank you for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1727641592008,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-club-promote-joy-reflect/8825300/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Club: Promote Joy, Reflection, and Stress Relief","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Castano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8013063_orig.png?crop=500,500,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667362864942","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8013063"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124938","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":513,"numTeachers":7,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":45,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"73.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":0.0,"schoolId":124938,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about The Science Academy STEM Magnet on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"The Science Academy STEM Magnet","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/millikan-science-academy-stem-magnet/124938"}
