One moment that really stood out was during a recent writing activity where students illustrated their personal narratives. With access to their own markers, crayons, and colored pencils, every student was able to fully participate and take pride in their work. I saw more detail in their drawings, more confidence in sharing, and a greater willingness to take academic risks. Students use them during phonics and math to practice skills, make mistakes, and try again, which has helped build a more positive and low-pressure learning environment.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were genuinely amazed and kept asking if everything was really for our classroom. The biggest reaction came from the calming corner additions—especially the bean bags and sensory tools. Students were eager to explore them, and it opened up meaningful conversations about when and how to use these supports.\r\nAs we move forward, we're continuing our work in both academics and social-emotional learning. In our current unit, students are developing opinion writing pieces and will use the art supplies to create visual representations that support their ideas. At the same time, we're building independence with emotional regulation—students are practicing identifying their feelings and using classroom tools to refocus when needed. These resources are helping create a classroom environment where students feel supported, capable, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1771026046015,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-be-the-best-teacher-i-can-be/9895448/","projectTitle":"Help Me Be The Best Teacher I Can Be","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kashimoto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10259539"},{"teacherId":2148461,"projectId":10107087,"letterContent":"What a blessing to have received the supplies to support the PE program at my school.
