Not only are students awake, they are energized, engaged and ready to learn. When students learned that donors donated snacks to them, they were excited, yet curious to know why a stranger cared enough to purchase snacks for them. I informed them that their education was important to even those who they have yet to meet. I also was able to donate a couple of our old soccer balls that aren't practice-worthy anymore to players who want to play soccer at home but do not have a ball, nor do they have the means of acquiring one.
