Today, the students were able to play around with some of the tools donated and told me I was 'corny' but I could see the smiles when they put there chips in the box to show how they were feeling. I was so amused watching them. \r\n We did not get the chance to open the Answer Boards or to use the items that were purchased with them, just yet, but my returning students are eager. Some of them stated how easy it will be to use them next school year instead of holding up paper that flops everywhere. They were too geeked that the boards had individual holds to hold up like a sign. The bracelets were a huge hit as well. Especially when they noticed the positives.\r\n I love getting participatory responses from the students during instruction time and these materials will come in handy for that. I like the feelings box because I need to know how my students are doing when they enter. They told me it was kiddish but I want to stand at the door to warrant responses as everyone enters. The students were given the responsibility to decide what we would do with most of the items. It was great hearing the dialogue. They decided to put our snacks and smaller items in the cart so that it could be easily moved about the room when needed. The tuffy cart will be used to move parts, materials, papers or whatever else is needed.\r\n\r\nThe water bottles were an absolute hit because we talk about being healthy and one of the main ideas that was brought up before the items were requested was to stay hydrated. The students were excited when they saw the water bottles. Now, they are asking for a cricut machine for name plates. \r\n\r\nIn a lab, safety is key. The eye shields and goggles were a hit and the students decided to keep those items on the door in a compartment hanger so that they would be able to grab a pair upon entering the room. \r\n\r\nThank you again. To begin this season, the students were in turmoil because we had not properly stored our filament or protected our equipment as we should have. The new resources you provided are already making a difference.\r\n\r\nThe games are used to bridge the familiar with a math twist! Kids love all the review games we play to review our math concepts throughout the year. Fraction dice help to practie basic operations with fractions. The bingo chips support the many bingo games we play with each new concept. They played 4-in-a-Row to practice strategic thinking while reinforcing number sense. The Rich Algebra Tasks book guided a small group discussion where students worked together to solve a multi-step equation, debating different solution paths. These activities gave students multiple entry points into the math, helping them see themselves as capable problem-solvers.\r\n\r\nThe moment the boxes were opened, the room buzzed with excitement. Students crowded around the giant checkers rug and UNO decks, exclaiming, \"We get to play this in math class?\" For many, the surprise was realizing that math could be both rigorous and fun. One student who often hesitates to participate jumped right into the Beat That! challenge, laughing with peers while practicing estimation skills. That joy has carried into our lessons, making even reluctant learners eager to engage.\r\n\r\nWe're now building toward a collaborative project where students design their own math games using the dice, cards, and counters you helped provide. They'll test their creations with classmates, refine the rules, and connect the gameplay to key math concepts. This project not only deepens their understanding but also fosters creativity, teamwork, and ownership of their learning. In addition, we have several math games that I've shared with them to help build number sense like Math WAR, Over the Hill, and Integer Battle! \r\n\r\nYour support gave us more than materials—it gave students the chance to see math as a community experience filled with discovery, laughter, and confidence. I introduced them to the books to let them know that if they wanted to read them, they would be available. I didn't push but I saw a few students gravitate and have started asking questions. Students were very excited and it put some at ease to see all the items we had in our immediate proximity to help stop the spread of germs and clean up messes. \r\n\r\nWith our weather so unpredictable in Michigan, we experience seasonal colds, colds, and allergies all the time. It is comforting for my students and I to have the proper things in our classroom to help whenever we sneeze or cough. To be able to clean our hands and learning spaces without having to bother the custodial staff is very satisfying. \r\n\r\nWe thank you for your generosity to help maintain a clean space. This project will go a long way to protect us all from sickness and germs.
