It has helped take our Yearbook team to new heights and the students have loved using the new technology. The students truly appreciate knowing their community supports their efforts to make our school a more welcoming place for all students and staff. \r\n\r\nWhile making the yearbook, the drone allowed us to take some awesome ariel pictures of our student body. We took one picture of each grade as well as a whole school photo with all students and staff. The staff and students in the whole school photo were positioned in the shape of a heart and is the opening page of our Yearbook. The students are very proud of this awesome picture and it turned out great! Additionally, we have used the drone to record special events we have had outside to produce videos we sent out to the school. We are still exploring the possibilities of this incredible resource!\r\n\r\nThe Polaroid camera was a huge hit at Prom! Students were amazed with this older technology and it is just sort of a novelty for kids. I must have heard the phrase \"That is so cool!\" a dozen or so times throughout the night. We still have some film leftover and we plan to use the rest at our upcoming Senior Dinner and at Graduation. For students to be able to take home a picture in their hands to remember their special occasions has been a game changer for our Yearbook staff. Without your generous donation, we would not have been able to provide these for students!\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous donation. The Yearbook students work so hard with our limited resources to produce awesome materials for our school to enjoy. With these new resources, it not only takes our program to new heights, it confirms our community supports our efforts and inspires my students to work even harder! They have used the journals to help maintain a positive mental mindset. The stickers keep them focused and on task. Working at an alternative school, these students need ways to learn to cope in healthy ways, as well being able to identify feelings and proper ways to express themselves.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has been truly helpful and impactful in these students' lives.","fullyFundedDate":1727054115137,"projectUrl":"project/encouraging-positive-mental-health/8809114/","projectTitle":"Encouraging Positive Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5911041_orig.jpg?crop=1384,1384,x80,y155&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1665082399367","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5911041"},{"teacherId":9891631,"projectId":9861091,"letterContent":"We are thrilled to have begun using our new video camera. The students in our Yearbook class have been learning how to use the new camera and we recently produced our newest video. Students worked so hard on a Home Alone remake video entitled \"School Alone\" in which a student is left behind for a field trip and ends up defending the school against robbers. We worked on creating props, creating the scripts, filming, and editing the video for several weeks. Students stayed after school until 8 p.m. filming scenes for the movie. We released the video on the last day before Winter Break and it was a SMASH HIT! (in big part due to the excellent video quality from our new camera). It has been the talk of the school for weeks now and has inspired other students to join the Yearbook staff. \r\n\r\nThere are many very cool features our new camera offers. The feature we have utilized most is the wireless microphone option. In many of the scenes from our School Alone video, we filmed scenes from inside the school of the \"robbers\" attempting to break in. We would not have been able to have audio from the actors outside while filming inside without the wireless microphone capability. We are just scratching the surface of this camera's capability and we are excited to utilize the other features as we begin new projects this semester.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular has taken on the role of becoming an expert in using this camera. Ariana, our lead camera person, has several hours using the camera and testing out the different features it offers. It has been a tremendous pleasure observing her take on this leadership role and be able to pass on her knowledge to the other students on the Yearbook staff. In this way, her confidence as a leader has grown and it has been a truly meaningful experience for her. \r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for the donation that made acquiring this camera possible. We are humbled by the tremendous support in our community and we are committed to using this camera to continue building a strong sense of community in our school. Without the support and generosity from the donor, we would not have had this opportunity.","fullyFundedDate":1762203998339,"projectUrl":"project/videos-preserve-memories-help-us-pres/9861091/","projectTitle":"Videos Preserve Memories...
