Students are putting themselves in others' shoes, helping them understand the world around them. I have seen students practice more patience, acceptance, and open-mindedness when interacting with those students who come from different backgrounds than their own. Even reluctant readers have been drawn to this new novel. This novel has sparked a lot of creative thinking.
