As a special education teacher, I see every day that my students learn best when they can touch, build, explore, and create. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom now has a ChompSaw and accessories that are opening doors to learning in ways that simply weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nThe day I introduced the ChompSaw, students were filled with smiles, excitement, and endless curiosity. As soon as my students realized they could safely cut cardboard and bring their ideas to life, they were eager to get started. Students who sometimes struggle to stay engaged or feel confident during traditional lessons were suddenly engaged, participating, sharing their ideas, and proud to show off their creations. Watching them work together, encourage one another, and celebrate their accomplishments reminded me how much learning becomes truly meaningful when students are given the opportunity to be hands-on and creative.\r\n\r\nThis year, the ChompSaw will be woven into so many of our lessons. We'll use it to build models in science, create math manipulatives and games, design story settings and characters for literacy, and complete STEM challenges that encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance. More importantly, it will help my students develop confidence in themselves as learners. Many of my students face challenges that make school difficult at times, but your kindness has given them a resource that meets them where they are and helps them discover what they are capable of. Every project they build will be a reminder that people they have never met believed in them enough to invest in their future.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for helping create a classroom where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Your generosity is making a lasting difference, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our classroom family.","fullyFundedDate":1776108666703,"projectUrl":"project/cutting-through-barriers-with-hands-on-l/10158705/","projectTitle":"Cutting Through Barriers with Hands-On Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Partridge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9834158_orig.png?crop=568,568,x266,y430&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731452317710","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9834158"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89804","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":318,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":12,"gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.5,"schoolId":89804,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Menallen Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Menallen Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/uniontown-area-school-district/menallen-elementary-school/89804"}
