The soft rug immediately became a favorite spot—not only do students love relaxing on it when they need a quiet break, but it has also become a cozy hub for independent reading and buddy reading. The light switch has been a total game-changer for our learning environment; being able to turn off the harsh overhead lights and switch on our five new lamps has transformed our classroom into a peaceful, inviting, and relaxing atmosphere.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these resources are empowering our students to take charge of their own emotional well-being. When students find themselves in the yellow or blue zones or feel overwhelmed, they use the calming space to take a needed break. The posters and the breathing lamp give them concrete visual tools to practice self-regulation independently. As we move forward with our lessons, students are learning how to manage their feelings so they can quickly return to their learning feeling refreshed and ready to succeed.
