We have absolutely loved using the kinetic sand not only for building and driving vehicles through it, but also as a tool for emotional regulation and calming.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, we all have complex needs, and each of us has taken turns using the sand to help calm our bodies, regulate our emotions, and return to learning focused and ready. It has quickly become a favorite part of our day.\r\n\r\nWe are so excited to cook, clean, and play in our new dramatic play kitchen! We've been working on play schemes that range from 1- to 3-step directions, and these new materials are perfect for helping us practice those skills.\r\n\r\nThe kitchen has created a welcoming environment where we can engage in meaningful pretend play, build social skills, and have so much fun together. Thanks to your funding, our students have thoroughly enjoyed using items that promote inclusivity especially the dolls that reflect some of our own unique needs.\r\n\r\nWe've loved pushing dolls in wheelchairs that look like us and pretending to feed a baby using a G-tube, just like one of our students. These materials have made a meaningful impact in our classroom, encouraging empathy, representation, and connection.\r\n\r\nThe Find and Float ABC Bubble Letters have also been a huge hit at our sensory table!
