The tools support focus, emotional regulation, and self-awareness, which allows students to spend more time engaged in learning and less time feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. Teachers are able to use the strategies throughout the day to create calmer, more supportive classroom environments where students are ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is that STARR gives them practical, easy-to-use tools they can apply right away. Students enjoy having language and strategies to manage big feelings, refocus their attention, and make better choices during challenging moments. Many students say it helps them feel more in control of their learning and more confident in the classroom.\r\n\r\nStudents who previously struggled with attention, transitions, or emotional regulation have especially benefited from this technology. We've seen these students use STARR strategies independently, communicate their needs more clearly, and re-engage in learning more quickly. Quieter students have also gained confidence, as the tools provide safe ways to express themselves and participate more fully in class.","fullyFundedDate":1771214725988,"projectUrl":"project/starr-classroom-essentials/10099768/","projectTitle":"STARR Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Hubbard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5817581_orig.jpg?crop=768,768,x129,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756898120786","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/soar2022"},{"teacherId":5817581,"projectId":10099737,"letterContent":"Thank you again for supporting our classroom! The case of copy paper allowed me to create individual paper copies of anchor charts so students could have their own \"moving anchor charts\" to reference during lessons and small-group work. This eliminated our reliance on constant access to technology and ensured that all students—regardless of device availability—could actively engage with instructional supports in real time.\r\n\r\nThe rolling anchor chart stand transformed how instruction happens in our classroom. Instead of anchor charts being fixed to one location, I was able to move them throughout the room as they were being created, allowing students to stay focused and connected to the lesson no matter where they were seated. Additionally, the non-standard, smaller anchor chart paper made it possible to create table-top anchor charts during small-group instruction. The smaller format reduced anxiety for struggling learners, as their thinking and work were shared in a less public way, increasing participation, confidence, and willingness to take academic risks.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic impact, the emotional response from students was incredibly powerful. They were genuinely surprised and excited to learn that people who had never met them cared enough to support their learning. Students eagerly volunteered to help assemble the anchor chart stand and took pride in carrying the donated items into the classroom. This project not only enhanced instruction but also helped students feel seen, valued, and supported—reminding them that their education matters to a community beyond our classroom walls.","fullyFundedDate":1761746331480,"projectUrl":"project/anchor-learning-anywhere-a-mobile-chart/9831438/","projectTitle":"Anchor Learning Anywhere: A Mobile Chart Stand for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Simes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10313109_orig.jpg?crop=400,400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760557113427","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10313109"},{"teacherId":5817581,"projectId":9676426,"letterContent":"Thank you again for providing these new resources for our classroom.
