The switch adapted toys have helped provide new pathways for these students to actively participate in their learning through play.\r\n\r\nThrough the use of specialized adapted toys, our students are developing critical skills such as making choices, initiating interactions, and understanding cause-and-effect relationships. The student were so excited to have the felt board during story time and I was able to laminate pictures and use velcro dots to make it more interactive. This helped many students who struggle with attention. One student told me it was \"satisfying\" to pull the velcro visuals on and off! \r\n\r\nFurthermore, the different fidgets have been so helpful in keeping my students' hands busy while they are listening or having to wait. Having access to fidgets allows them to quietly receive that sensory input they were seeking by moving around the room, etc. in a way that is less disruptive to the rest of the class.
